Conservation Area Redevelopment
- 4 New Dwellings
- Existing House Retained & Remodelled
- Sensitive Conservation Area Location
The site consisted of a single detached property located in large grounds of a 0.5ha plot, occupying a central position within the village it included mature trees to most boundaries and within portions of the site.
An approach was taken to retain the existing inter-war property and remodel the property for modern living standards, while creating an appearance more suiting to the conservation area setting. Of the four new properties, three were grouped with the access to the existing house and one with its own private drive from an adjacent road.
A local form of detailing and character was proposed to the property design, enabling a sympathetic addition to the conservation area. Construction was commenced in mid 2013, with the first properties available for sale in 2014.
